Despite efforts by a number of consumer electronics companies to solve the theatrical camcorder piracy problem over the last 15 years, PirateEye has proven to be the only effective solution. PirateEye is now commercially available to the industry for immediate use.

The PirateEye technology was developed with funding from Motion Picture Laboratories, Inc. (MovieLabs), a non-profit research organization funded by the major Hollywood studios.

In 2010, FPSI, Inc. acquired the existing PirateEye technology including the engineering team that was responsible for developing the current PirateEye solution.

FPSI acquired the technology in order to introduce the product into the market, develop a managed service capability and commercial offering, and continue R&D on a family of complementary devices, technologies, and offerings.

With its committed engineering team and new management, FPSI is aggressively developing the next generation PirateEye device and scaling the company’s infrastructure and partner network to install thousands of systems in cinemas worldwide.
